JIM suit is bulky since it's a deep sea atmospheric suit, so there's a big difference in pressure between the seawater outside and the air pressure inside [which stays at normal].

They JIM suits made an impression on me a few years ago when I was flipping through a Nat'l Geo issue. The thing that struck me most was the awkward way the arms were mounted, and so that lead to why the N2's arms are mounted the way they are here.

im pretty sure they are mounted odd, because of the joints that are used have to be air and water tight. so they have to turn on an axis.

i checked out the link posted in your comment. i was mostly just being a smartass. :P
